Rams in the NFL Update

Through four weeks of the NFL season, some former Rams are making some noise. Following is a update of how those former Rams who are making an impact on the NFL.

Jason Craft, New Orleans Saints - Craft has recorded 15 tackles and two interceptions for the Saints so far in 2005. In New Orleans' 19-7 win over Buffalo, Craft had a 39-yard interception return helping the Saints to their second win of the year.

Joel Dreessen, New York Jets - CSU's newest addition to the NFL, Joel Dreessen, is currently listed on the Jets' depth chart as the team's fourth tight end and third long snapper. Although Dreessen has not made a catch in the regular season, he was among New York's leaders in the preseason with six catches for 53 yards.

Clark Haggans, Pittsburgh Steelers - Haggans, a starting linebacker in Pittsburgh, currently ranks fourth on the team with 19 solo tackles and four assisted stops on the season for the Steelers. The six-year NFL veteran leads the Steelers' solid defense with three sacks on the season. In the Steelers' loss to the New England Patriots, Haggans ranked third on the team with 12 tackles while making one sack in the game.

John Howell - Seattle Seahawks - Former Ram defensive back John Howell enters his sixth year in the NFL and his second with the Seattle Seahawks. In 2005 he has made three stops helping Seattle to a 2-2 record on the year.

Joey Porter, Pittsburgh Steelers - Joey Porter ranks eighth on the Steelers' tackles list with nine solo stops on the year. Porter has also rung up two sacks and recovered a fumble in Pittsburgh's win over Houston in week 2 and has helped the Steel City's football team to a 2-1 start to the season.

Blaine Saipaia - St. Louis Rams - Blaine Saipaia is currently listed as the St. Louis Rams' backup right guard.

Cecil Sapp - Denver Broncos - Third-year running back Cecil Sapp has contributed to the Bronco offense with two catches for 17 yards in weeks three and four. Sapp also contributed on special teams by recovering a Bronco fumble on a punt return and making a tackle on kick coverage in Denver's win over Kansas City in week 3.

Brady Smith - Atlanta Falcons - Brady Smith has registered four tackles including two sacks for the Atlanta Falcons so far in 2005. He is currently listed as the team's starting defensive end.

Bradlee Van Pelt - Denver Broncos - Van Pelt has been back-up to Jake Plummer at quarterback for the first four weeks of the season. During four preseason games, Bradlee registered 110 yards rushing and completed more than 50 percent of his passes in extensive playing time.

Dexter Wynn - Philadelphia Eagles - Wynn is averaging 5 yards per return on punts and 24 yards per return on kickoffs in 2005. He has made 12 punt returns and three kick returns for the Eagles this season. On defense he has made four tackles and recovered three fumbles on the season.
