Colorado State University takes shuffled offensive line into Saturday's Mountain West Conference game against the University of Utah. Game time is 4:30 p.m. at Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium.
One starter in the offensive line - center Albert Bimper - is already ruled out of the game after suffering injures in last week's 41-23 win over Air Force. A second starter, guard Josh Day, hasn't practiced at all this week and is doubtful with a hamstring strain.
That leaves coach Sonny Lubick looking at a shuffled lineup up front. Sophomore Nick Allotta, who started last week's game at guard, moves to center and is flanked by guards Brandon Alconcel and either Jerome Williams or Dane Stratton.
Alconcel played only one series last week and did not play in the team's win over Nevada after suffering an elbow injury at Minnesota four weeks ago. He returns to the starting lineup where he opened the season. Williams and Stratton have seen reserve duty to far, and Lubick figures to make a game time decision on a starter.
Senior Mike Brisiel and junior Clint Oldenburg are the tackles. Senior Matt Bartz is the starting tight end while Kory Sperry starts at H-back.
Justin Holland, who has thrown three touchdown passes in each of the past two games, is the quarterback, while Kyle Bell starts at runningback. Bell has gained 380 yards in the past two games and leads the league and ranks 11th nationally in rushing.
Colorado State's improving defense remains intact from a week ago. Defensive ends Jesse Nading and Terrance Carter will start outside the tackles, Delroy Parke and Blake Smith. Courtney Jones is the middle linebacker, while Jahmal Hall and Jeff Horinek start outside.
The secondary will feature cornerbacks Darryl Williams and Robert Herbert, along with Miles Kochevar and Travis Garcia start at the safety positions. Kevin Mark is the kicker and Jimmie Kaylor will handle the punting chores.
Director of Athletics Mark Driscoll said Friday a few hundred reserved tickets still remain for the game. They can be purchased online at CSURAMS.com, or by calling 1-800-491-RAMS. Any unsold tickets will go on sale Saturday afternoon at the stadium beginning at 2:30 p.m.
