Colorado State University held a two-hour workout Tuesday afternoon in preparation for Saturday's showdown with Mountain West Conference leader TCU.
"It was a good practice today," said Rams' coach Sonny Lubick. "I think we got some things done. There are going to be a handful on offense. They are a good offensive football team. We'll have to be ready to go."
The Rams enter the game 5-3 overall and 4-1 in MWC play, the only other team besides TCU with one or fewer conference losses. TCU is 8-1 and 6-0. A win by the Rams puts them atop the league race with two games to play, a home game Nov. 12 against San Diego State and the season finale at UNLV a week later.
Tuesday, the Rams received some promising injury news. Linebacker Luke Adkins, a starter in 2004, returned to workouts for the first time this season. He had knee surgery after suffering an injury at the end of last season, and has yet to see the field.
Adkins was back in action Tuesday, and Lubick said he could possibly play if needed Saturday night.
Center Albert Bimper, who has missed the past four games with a hamstring injury, remains questionable. He has done light workouts the past week, but has yet to test the injury in full-speed workouts. Defensive tackle Delroy Parke, who has missed the past three games with a knee injury, is also questionable and like Bimper did light work Tuesday.
Saturday's game begins at 5 p.m. MT/6 p.m. CT. There is no television coverage of the game. All CSU games are broadcast on the Colorado State Sports Network, including flagship station KCOL (600 AM) in Fort Collins and Denver affiliate KNUS (710 AM).
