2005 Ram Football Schedule Announced

Colorado State University will play five home games in the newly renovated Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium in 2005, including home dates with Mountain West Conference rivals Air Force and Wyoming, as well as defending champion Utah.
Director of Athletics Mark Driscoll announced the Rams? schedule Tuesday afternoon once dates had been finalized.
MWC officials said there exists the possibility that selected games will be moved to Thursday or Friday night telecasts on ESPN. Those date changes will be announced in the coming weeks, according to league officials.
?We?re very excited fabout the 2005 season,? said Driscoll. ?Coach Lubick and the entire football program is excited about the challenge of the 2005 schedule. The teams coming to Fort Collins will provide great competition for our student-athletes and coaches. The game-day experience in our new stadium will be a great experience for everyone associated with Ram football.?
Following the season-opener at Colorado, the Rams face the University of Minnesota at the Metrodome in Minneapolis. Colorado State then has an open date before playing the first of three consecutive home games, hosting the University of Nevada in the first.
The following week, the Rams open MWC play against Air Force, followed by a date with two-time defending conference champion Utah.
Colorado State?s annual Border War game with Wyoming takes place Oct. 22 in Fort Collins. Colorado State closes out the home season by playing host to San Diego State Nov. 12.
In all, the Rams face five teams that played in bowl games last season, including: Colorado (Houston Bowl), Minnesota (Music City Bowl), Utah (Fiesta Bowl), Wyoming (Las Vegas Bowl), and New Mexico (San Francisco Bowl).
Driscoll also said the school will begin season ticket renewals and a wide-ranging ticket campaign later this spring.
