Colorado State University's football team put on full pads for the first time this spring as the Rams completed its third practice Saturday.
Sonny Lubick, in his 13th year as the Rams' head coach, put the Rams through a two-hour workout Saturday afternoon.
He praised the play of the Rams' pair of returning starters at wide receiver, David Anderson and Dustin Osborn.
"They are both playing well," said Lubick. Anderson has led the Rams in receiving in each of the past two seasons, and last year was a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, presented to the nation's top receiver. Osborn was fourth on the team with 30 receptions in 2004.
Lubick also said safety Ben Stratton, a two-year starter, has been performing well.
"I thought Ben Stratton has had good practices, especially today (Saturday)," Lubick said.
Lubick said the team's effort has pleased him thus far.
"They are really trying hard, but we still make a few errors," he said.
He also said all of the Rams' quarterbacks, including senior starter Justin Holland, have thrown the ball well to date during spring workouts.
As the Rams continue workouts, the veteran coach said it will remain a priority to give as many players repetitions as possible.
"We try to give everyone equal reps," he said. "It gives us a chance to get a look at them all."
The team returns to the field for a 1 p.m. workout Sunday, then is off until Wednesday afternoon.
