Colorado State volleyball coach Tom Hilbert recently announced the addition of Jesse Mahoney to the volleyball coaching staff.
Mahoney has spent the last six seasons as the head coach at Fort Hays State University, where he led the Lady Tigers to the Regional Finals in Division II this past season after posting a 31-5 record. Mahoney compiled a record of 107-82 at Fort Hays State, including 92-38 in the past four seasons.
"Jesse will be an outstanding member of our team,? said Hilbert. ?He is a guy with Colorado roots who has proven himself at the Division II level as a head coach.?
?This is a tremendous opportunity for advancement in my career goals,? said Mahoney. ?It is also great for my wife and I to be closer to home in Colorado.?
Prior to Fort Hays State, Mahoney served as the head coach at Colorado Christian in 1998 and was the head coach of the University of Colorado Men?s Club Team for two seasons as well as an assistant coach for the CU club team for one year. He also assisted with the 18 and under Front Range Volleyball Club Team for one season. That team captured the USA Junior Rocky Mountain Region Championship. Before beginning his career as a volleyball coach, Mahoney played volleyball for four years as the CU Club Team?s starting setter. In 1993, he earned All-America honors after helping the team to the National Championship.
A native of Boulder, Colo., Mahoney received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from CU in 1995 and a Juris Doctorate Degree at the University of Colorado School of Law in 1999. He is married to the former Jennifer Gwen McEntyre.
