COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West Conference and CSTV Networks released today the national portion of the 2006 MWC football television schedule.
The addition of the national package to the 36 football games identified for distribution via The mtn. - the first-ever regional network dedicated to a collegiate conference - will result in unprecedented exposure for the Mountain West Conference and its member institutions. Virtually every home non-conference game and all MWC conference match-ups, home and away, will appear as part of this unique new partnership.
The Mountain West Conference kicks off the season with San Diego State hosting UTEP on Thursday, August 31 in a nationally-televised game on CSTV beginning at 7:30 p.m. PT. Other highlights include Colorado State hosting Colorado at Invesco Field at Mile High in Denver the second week of the season (Sept. 9), Texas Tech visiting TCU on Sept. 16 and Notre Dame at Air Force on Nov. 11. The CSTV schedule also includes a full slate of key Conference match-ups.
The mtn. is a multi-faceted super regional network with a number of platforms, including a linear regional cable network, customized local programming, broadband distribution, video-on-demand and wireless applications. Games scheduled for The mtn. could appear on one or more of these outlets.
The 2006 MWC football television schedule exemplifies the "Fans First" philosophy. The vast majority of games are set for Saturdays with kickoffs in preferred time slots. Even though some game times may be adjusted to better serve the fans, MWC institutions now know earlier than ever before when their games will start.
Below is a listing of the 2006 Mountain West Conference football television games. Additional appearances are anticipated from road non-conference telecasts that have yet to be announced.
