Four former Colorado State University football players who played key roles in helping the Rams to three bowl appearances during their respective careers have joined various National Football League teams.

Wide receiver David Anderson, the school's all-time career leader in receptions and receiving yards, was drafted in the seventh round by the Houston Texans. Anderson was a first-team All-Mountain West Conference pick in 2005 and was a two-time Fred Biletnikoff Award semifinalist. Anderson ranked among the national leaders in receptions and receiving yards in 2005.

He was as four-year starter and letterwinner for the Rams.

Anderson joins a coaching staff seemingly familiar with Colorado State and Coach Sonny Lubick's program. The first-year head coach of the Texans is former Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak, whose son, Klint, is a sophomore defensive back for the Rams. The Texans' offensive line coach is former CSU co-offensive coordinator John Benton.

Anderson will have a familiar face in the Texans' rookie lineup. Offensive lineman Mike Brisiel signed a free agent contract with Houston Sunday night following the conclusion of the two-day NFL draft selection process. Brisiel was honorable mention all-conference in 2004 and '05, and during his career played tackle and guard. He is also able to play center. Brisiel was a four-year starter and letterwinner for the Rams.

Center Albert Bimper played alongside Brisiel for four years as a starter for the Rams. Bimper Sunday night signed as a free agent with the Indianapolis Colts. Bimper was honorable mention all-league as a junior and senior.

Rams' quarterback Justin Holland signed as a free agent with the Miami Dolphins. Holland was a two-year starter for the Rams who finished his collegiate career as the most accurate passer for a career and single-season in school history. He ranked among the national leaders in passing efficiency and passing yards per game in 2005.
