Colorado State University's football team completed its third workout of the week, with players set to have the weekend free.

Colorado State, 2-1, has an open date before returning to action next Saturday at Fresno State, 1-2. Kickoff time is 7 p.m. PT/8 p.m. MT. The game will be broadcast on the Colorado State Sports Network, which includes KCOL (600 AM-Fort Collins) and ESPN Radio (560 AM-Denver). The pregame show begins at 6 p.m. MT.

Friday, Rams' coach Sonny Lubick put his team through a 90-minute workout in cold, wet weather to conclude the week's workouts. The practice featured more contact that usual.

"We did some hitting, and came out of it okay," Lubick said following the workout. "I think we got a message across."

The Rams have payed particular attention to improving the team's running game during the open week. Colorado State is averaging 76 yards per game on the ground. Lubick was quick to point out establishing a consistent running game is a team effort, not solely the offensive line.

"Other things have to happen. You have to be able to throw the ball on the perimeter, make a run and get outside. But I do think we got a feel this week for something offensively."

Safety Ben Stratton (neck) left Friday's workout after suffering a minor injury but is expected back in the lineup when the team returns to the field Monday.

Lubick said his team will have a normal practice at 4 p.m. Monday, and follow the same routine Tuesday and Wednesday, then a light workout Thursday before departing for Fresno Friday afternoon.

Wide receiver Dustin Osborn (left ankle) and center Tim Walter (right knee) remain questionable for the game. Both were injured in the opening game win over Weber State three weeks ago. Neither played in the past two games, and their return in time for the FSU game is questionable.
