The Colorado State cross country teams compete tomorrow at the BYU Autumn Classic in Provo, Utah and will run the top competitors on the team for the first time this year.
Last week at the Wyoming Invitational, the younger athletes and contenders for the remaining top spots competed, with the women winning the invitational and the men placing third. "Considering we didn't run our top five men or women I think we still got some things accomplished," said first year head coach Bryan Berryhill. "It definitely helped us take a look at our talent and depth in order to put together our best season."
This week, the Rams head into rival territory, competing on BYU's home course. The Cougars, whose men's team finished 13th and women's team finished 8th at the NCAA Championships a year ago, will be hosting several Mountain West teams in competition this weekend.
"At BYU this week, we will be running close to full strength on both sides," Berryhill continued. "It will be a very good test for us at this point in the season. Anytime you run against BYU on its home course it's going to be a challenge. However, the Rams have been training very well and I feel we are up to the task."
