Sonny Lubick Honored With Collins Award

FORT COLLINS, COLO. - The Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce presented Fort Collins legend Sonny Lubick and local businessman Jim Sampson at its 102nd Annual Dinner celebration on Thursday evening.

Sampson, benefits sales consultant for Flood & Peterson Benefits, LLC was recognized as the Chamber Volunteer of the Year for 2006 for his dedication to the local business community and involvement in the Chamber's Local Legislative Affairs Committee, Election Committee and Board of Directors, as well as various other community organizations.

Colorado State University Football Coach Lubick received the most prestigious award of the evening and a standing ovation from the crowd of 500 local business professionals, as he was honored with the Collins Award. The Collins Award is given annually to a local figure that exemplifies leadership and service to the Fort Collins community.

The Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce is a not for profit organization comprised of more than 1,200 member businesses. The Chamber acts as a front door to the community and a resource for people looking to relocate, in addition to acting as an advocate for business and overall quality of life in Northern Colorado.
