Lubick Pleased With Rams' Workouts

Colorado State University football coach Sonny Lubick said Thursday he's happy with his team's progress in workouts with just more than a week remaining until the team's intrasquad spring game.
"We are playing with a lot of enthusiasm," Lubick said Thursday following a two-hour workout. "Our guys are giving everything they have."
Lubick said he also has seen improvement during his team this spring.
"I feel like we've gotten better. We have some toughness and we're playing hard," he said.
Lubick said Thursday's practice was solid.
"I feel like we got some work done. I'm very encouraged by the way our guys are practicing."
The 15th-year coach also said several players have caught his eye during the spring.
"Kory Sperry has a new attitude, and he has had a very strong spring," Lubick said of the Rams' 6-foot-6, 260-pound senior tight end from Pueblo, Colo. "He's blocking better and he's tougher."
Several redshirt freshmen, including center Brian Lepak, runningback John Mosure, and offensive linemen Guy Miller have caught hit eye with solid spring performances.
Lubick said the Rams are hopeful of returning to the practice field Thursday, then hold a Saturday workout at 10 a.m. that will likely include a situational scrimmage. However, predicted wet and cold weather could alter those plans. Lubick said he'd make a decision each day regarding practice plans if wet weater hits the area.
The Rams conclude spring workouts April 21 with a 12 noon spring game at Hughes Stadium. CSU's Ram Club Spirit Committee will again host a free pancake breakfast on the west concourse of the stadium from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Entrance to the game including the Fort Collins Football Frenzy is free.
The game will also be broadcast live on KCOL (600 AM) and KLZ (560 AM) radio stations, respectively.
