Two former Colorado State University football players have signed free agent contracts with National Football League teams.
Josh Day, a 6-foot-4, 304-pound offensive lineman, signed with the Minnesota Vikings, while wide receiver Dustin Osborn joined the New York Jets.
Day was a three-year starter and letterwinner during his career. He played both guard and tackle for the Rams. Day came to Colorado State after earning prep honors at Aurora's Overland High. Day started 11 games in 2006, and 33 in his career.
Osborn is a 6-foot, 185-pound native of La Junta who originally joined CSU's program as a walk-on and later earned a scholarship. Osborn played in 10 games last season, missing two contests due to an ankle injury. He led the team in yards per reception, 15.3. Osborn was third on the team with 397 receiving yards, and fourth with 26 catches including two for touchdowns.
He finished his career with 78 receptions for 1,289 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Osborn and Day join offensive tackle Clint Oldenburg as 2006 seniors now on NFL rosters. Oldenburg was a fifth-round selection by the New England Patriots.
