Final Stats

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP)-- Backup quarterback Marcus Jackson rushed for two touchdowns and threw for another to lead TCU past Colorado State 24-12 Saturday night.

Starter Andy Dalton suffered an apparent knee injury on TCU's opening drive. Jackson had a 4-yard touchdown run on his first play of the game.

Jackson was 11-for-26 passing for 137 yards and carried 17 times for 38 yards.

TCU (3-2, 1-1 Mountain West) played without defensive end Tommy Blake, who was placed on medical leave Tuesday for undisclosed reasons. Blake, who came into the season as a top NFL prospect, will miss at least one more game.

TCU's Aaron Brown, who has been slowed this season with a knee injury, rushed for 113 yards on 20 carries. It was his fifth career 100-yard rushing game.

Colorado State (0-4, 0-1) scored on its first possession when Jason Smith booted a 47-yard field goal.

Jackson was 0-for-3 passing in the first quarter, but heated up in the second.

On TCU's season-best 90-yard drive, Jackson completed four passes for 73 yards. He connected with Shae Reagan on a 4-yard pass to put the Horned Frogs ahead 14-3.

Chris Manfredini's 19-yard field goal gave the Frogs a 17-3 halftime lead.

In the third quarter, TCU scored again when Jackson rolled out to his left for his second 4-yard touchdown run.

Colorado State finished the scoring on Smith's 27-yard field goal and Caleb Hanie's 54-yard touchdown pass to Damon Morton. The two-point conversion failed, leaving the score at 24-12 a minute into the fourth quarter.
