FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The Colorado State volleyball team (11-1, 3-0), off to its best start since the 2004 season, moved up one spot to No. 12 in the latest CSTV/AVCA Coaches Poll which was released Monday.
The Rams remained perfect at home with a five-set win over Wyoming on Friday night at Moby Arena. In the match, Jaime Strauss posted 19 kills and Tessa Nelson posted a season-high 11 kills on a career-high .625 hitting. She also added a career-high tying nine blocks to earn MWC Volleyball Co-Player of the Week honors.
The No. 12 ranking is the highest for the Rams since the end of the 2004 season, when they were ranked No. 9 in the 13th poll of the season. CSU's 11-1 start is the best since the Rams opened the 2004 season 13-1.
The Rams travel to Colorado Springs on Thursday to take on Air Force, whom they have defeated in 28 consecutive matches. CSU will return home to Moby Arena on Saturday night to take on Arizona from the Pac-10. The Wildcats enter the week 11-2 overall and ranked 25th in the country.
