FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The Colorado State volleyball team, fresh off its 14th consecutive NCAA tournament appearance, will be back on the court as the Rams sponsor a three-team exhibition this Saturday.
The event will take place on Saturday at the Bank of Colorado Events Center on the campus of Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colo. The Rams will be joined in round-robin action by local rivals Colorado and Denver.
"These types of offseason scrimmages are helpful," said CSU Head Coach Tom Hilbert. "It gives us the opportunity to play a lot of different players and we don't have to worry about wins and losses, just getting better as a team."
The event will be a homecoming of sorts for two players from the Sterling area. Both Colorado State outside hitter Danielle Minch and Colorado middle blocker Schylur Edelman are natives of Sterling and graduates of Sterling High School.
"We're excited to bring great Sterling players back to Sterling," said Hilbert. "It should be fun for Danielle and Schylur, and for the people of Sterling, who supported them so well for so many years."
The Rams will open the day with a match against Denver at 10 a.m., followed by a matchup of Denver and CU at noon. The Rams and Buffaloes will then square off in the main match at 2 p.m.
Tickets for the event are $3 and are available at the door or by calling the Colorado State ticket office at 970/491-RAMS.
