FORT COLLINS, Colo. - After a tough week of practice that included the start of two-a-days, the Rams ended the week on a light note.
Head Coach Steve Fairchild rewarded the team with a shorter practice Friday afternoon as the Rams dressed out in shorts, shoulder pads, and helmets.
He also mentioned that the coaching staff would like to be able to make a few personnel decisions beginning with Saturday’s scrimmage.
Big plays: The defense was well represented during the 11-on-11 portion of practice. Sophomore Michael Kawulok notched the first interception, a deflected ball off the hands of wide receiver T.J. Borcky. The defense’s second of the day came when freshman Dru Taylor read the offense and made a great play for the interception. Their third and final interception came during 7-on-7 from cornerback Gerard Thomas.
A bright spot for the Rams offense was the play of quarterback Grant Stucker. Stucker connected with a streaking Dion Morton on a crossing route midway through 11-on-11. Marquise Law was also on the receiving end of a beautiful Stucker pass, when the senior quarterback threaded the ball in between three CSU defenders. The offense executed a screen pass from Stucker to Zac Pauga that left the fullback with room to run.
Injury update: Tight end Adam Seymore participated fully in Friday’s afternoon practice, shedding his red non-contact jersey. He played during the team’s 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 portions of practice.
Increased reps: Freshman running back Chris Nwoke has looked impressive thus far in camp. He has been rewarded with additional reps, setting himself apart from the other young backs.
