FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State will bring the Minnesota Golden Gophers to Fort Collins in 2015, Director of Athletics Paul Kowalczyk announced Friday.

In addition to the Sept. 12, 2015, date at Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium, the home-and-home contract also calls for a return game at Minnesota on Sept. 24, 2016.

The Gophers this season open 50,805-seat TCF Bank Stadium, a $288.5 million facility, in Minneapolis, Minn.

Colorado State played a home-and-home series with the Gophers earlier this decade, dropping both contests, in 2004 at then-No. 22 Minnesota, and 2005 in Fort Collins. The Gophers last season advanced to the Insight.com bowl against Kansas.

The Rams now have two non-conference opponents from automatic-qualifying BCS conferences – the University of Colorado from the Big 12 and Minnesota from the Big Ten – on both 2015 and 2016 schedules.

Colorado State is working to finalize its remaining dates and opponents on each schedule.
