LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Colorado State volleyball program moved up one spot to No. 17 in the Division I Coaches top 25 poll released Monday afternoon by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
The Rams' ascension was spurred by a pair of victories last week against the Northern Colorado Bears and the San Diego State Aztecs.
Colorado State recorded a three-set road victory over the Bears - 25-19, 25-16, 25-14 - behind a career-high 12 blocks and team-leading nine kills by sophomore MB Megan Plourde.
The Rams then returned to Moby Arena where the team collected a thrilling five-set victory over the Aztecs - 25-15, 20-25, 25-10, 19-25, 15-9 - to improve to 3-0 in the Mountain West Conference. Senior OH Danielle Minch led the Rams with 16 kills on .385 hitting in the win.
The Rams resume action this week with a pair of MWC road games. First, CSU heads down I-25 on Thursday evening for a matchup with the Air Force Academy Falcons. The Rams close out this week traveling to Las Vegas, Nev., for a Saturday matchup with the UNLV Rebels.
