1. Your home town is Crofton, Nebraska. Can you describe the town?
"It's a really small town, if you're driving through it and you blink, you'll miss it. There's not a stoplight in it; it's just an agriculture town. There's not a whole lot going on there, we don't have a McDonalds, or places to eat."
2. What are some advantages and disadvantages of growing up in the middle of a five son family?
"The advantage is that there is a lot of competition, we grew up pretty tough because we were always wrestling and fighting and stuff like that, so it made us tough. A disadvantage is now that I'm in college I don't get to watch my little brothers play football, so I do miss out on that."
3. How are you able to maintain a high GPA in such a difficult major while playing as the starting tight end?
"You just have to learn how to manage your time. If we have time off I know I have to study; I can't get sidetracked because I have to stay focused on both. I can't just concentrate on one."
4. How's your finger? (After the injury last spring)
"Well it looks pretty bad, it's pretty ugly, but it's fully functional and that's really all I care about."
5. In 2007 you came in and replaced Kory Sperry, who was injured, and played as a true freshmen. What advice do you have for the true freshmen who are playing during this 2010 season?
"Just to enjoy it all because it goes fast. I can't believe that I'm a senior and this is my last year already; it seems like I just got here and I was a freshman just yesterday."
6. What are some of the worst pronunciations of your last name?
"Pits or Peets."
7. How did you decide to major in biological sciences?
"The biology teacher I had in high school was really a fun guy, and he was really interactive. It just all really interested me. I'm focusing on biomedical sciences, so just to be able to see how the human body works is really interesting."
8. What do you want to do after your football career?
"I'm not quite sure yet. Probably go to graduate school, but I'm not completely set on that."
9. Why did you switch from #45 to #11 this season?
"Just to change things up I guess, there was no real reason behind it. I was just tired of #45."
10. What is your best memory so far from your football career?
"Winning the New Mexico Bowl against Fresno State, that was pretty amazing."
