LEXINGTON, Ky. – Following a 2-1 week, Colorado State volleyball dropped one spot in the AVCA Division I Coaches Top 25 Poll, to No. 14.

The Rams opened the week with a pair of sweeps over Northern Colorado and Florida A&M, extending their set win streak to begin the season to 15 – second-longest in program history and longest since 1986 – before falling to No. 4 Wisconsin in three tight sets. The loss came in front of a CSU- and Mountain West-record 7,018 fans.

CSU will once again have a quick turnaround with a challenging week ahead. The Rams host in-state rival Denver Tuesday before traveling to Las Cruces, N.M., to face No. 9 BYU and New Mexico State, and El Paso, Texas, to take on UTEP.

DU, the preseason favorite to win The Summit League, is 5-1 on the year, with its lone loss coming on Saturday to Kansas, currently ranked 24th. BYU is also 5-1, taking No. 5 Washington to five sets on Friday.

It marks the first time since the 2011 NCAA tournament that the Rams will play two top-15 teams in a three-game span, and the first time during the regular season since 2007.

Just behind CSU, at No. 15, is Arizona State, which the Rams will see on Sept. 19. Marquette, which CSU swept on Aug. 31, is the top team in the ‘Receiving Votes’ category following a win over American (receiving votes) and a five-set loss to No. 7 Florida State. Stanford earned 52 first-place votes after topping then-No. 1 Penn State. The Cardinal is followed by Texas, Penn State, Wisconsin and Washington.

CSU has now been ranked in 16-consecutive polls dating back to last September. All-time, CSU has been ranked in 252 of the 464 all-time polls, which ranks 14th nationally.
