FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State linebacker Aaron Davis has accepted an invitation to the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine, becoming the fifth Ram who will attend the event this year.
Davis will join former CSU teammates quarterback Garrett Grayson, running back Dee Hart, kicker Jared Roberts and offensive lineman Ty Sambrailo at the combine.
Five representatives from CSU is the most at the combine since 1999 when the Rams sent seven players: Anthony Cesario, Jason Craft, Darran Hall, Mike Newell, Joey Porter, Myron Terry and Damon Washington.
“It’s an honor to be invited to the combine,” Davis said. “As a kid you watch these things on TV and it’s almost surreal that I have the opportunity to be invited to it. I’m excited to compete against the best in the country and represent Colorado State.”
Davis is coming off a strong senior season in which he started all 13 games, while leading the Rams with 118 tackles, including 6.5 tackles for loss. The native of Los Alamitos, Calif., earned second-team All-Mountain West honors as a senior and was named a 2014 season captain by a vote of his teammates and coaching staff.
In his four years in Fort Collins, Davis played in 50 games, starting 39, and recorded 345 tackles, the seventh-most in Colorado State history. He also logged 18.5 tackles for loss, 10 pass breakups and four forced fumbles.
