NCAA grants Mitch Parsons immediate eligibility to play football

FORT COLLINS, Colo.--Colorado State tight end Mitch Parsons was notified by the NCAA today that he will be eligible to play in 2015 for the Rams, after transferring from Vanderbilt.

Parsons, a 2014 graduate of Chaparral High School in Parker, Colo., enrolled at Colorado State in January and participated in spring drills with the Rams. He redshirted at Vanderbilt in the fall of 2014.

The 6-foot-4, 245-pound tight end was rated the No. 2 overall high school player in the state of Colorado in 2013 and the No. 7 tight end nationally. As a senior, Parsons caught 45 passes for 754 yards and seven touchdowns. He led his team to an 8-3 record and a berth in the Class 5A state playoffs.
