Jaime Colaizzi’s career at Colorado State closed with the Rams winning its seventh straight league title, with the Windsor-native going 4-for-4 in her career.

Colaizzi anchored a CSU defense that led the Mountain West and ranked second nationally in opponent hitting percentage. Foes hit at a measly .140 clip against the stalwart CSU defense.

The strength of the Rams defense led the team to 26 wins and a No. 12 ranking to close the regular season. CSU went unbeaten in league play (18-0), and rode a 20-match win streak into the NCAA Tournament.

Colaizzi was particularly tough in Mountain West action, leading the team with 4.28 digs per set. She totaled double-digit digs in all but one league match, and reached the 20-dig plateau four times, including a sweep over Utah State on Sept. 24. Overall, Colaizzi recorded double-figure digs in 26-of-30 matches.

The three-year libero was also stellar in both sides of the serve-receive game. Colaizzi totaled 14 aces on the year, including three in three sets against Air Force on Oct. 10. She was a common target for opposing serves on the defensive side, and posted a .938 reception percentage on 438 total attempts. She did not allow an ace against her in 12 matches, including six times in league play.

For her efforts on the year, Colaizzi earned All-Mountain West Honorable Mention for the second consecutive season. Colaizzi ranks second all-time at CSU in digs (1,515) and digs per set (3.63), and also became just the third player in program history to lead the team in digs for three straight years, joining CSU legends Katelin Batten and Jill Johnson.
