FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Colorado State soccer Head Coach Bill Hempen on Thursday announced that seven players signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Rams for the 2016-17 season.

Colorado State's 2016 class brings in a versatile skill set for the fourth-year program. The class features four girls from Colorado, one from Illinois, one from Kansas and one from Washington.

"We all feel like we hit the jackpot; that's a good feeling to have," Hempen said. "Overall as a group, we got faster, which can only help as we build this."

"We are excited about the girls coming in and all of their individual talents that they bring. Now we begin the process of weaving them into our team."

The Rams received their first National Letter of Intent from Danielle Laughrey, a defender from Blue Valley West High School in Overland Park, Kan. At Blue Valley West High School, Laughrey was a four-year letterman and earned 5A First-Team All-State honors as a junior.

CSU's second signee, Katie Davis, will come to the Rams from Pueblo Centennial High School in Pueblo, Colo. Davis has experience playing both as a defender and a forward and was named her conference's MVP, also earning a spot of the First-Team All-State, last year as a junior. As one of their most decorated athletes, Davis will be recognized in Pueblo Centennial's Hall of Fame.

The third member of CSU's 2016 class is goalkeeper Natalie Dierickx, who comes to Colorado State by way of Inglemoor High School in Kirkland, Wash. Anchoring the defense, Dierickx was a First-Team All-Conference player last season as a junior and helped lead her club team to the Elite Clubs National League championship, finishing as Runner Up.

The Rams added to their defensive depth with defender Halley Havlicek from Richmond Burton High School in Spring Grove, Ill. Havlicek has started for him team at defense every single year and led her team as regional and sectional champions last year as a junior. She is a three-time all-conference selection, and was also named to the all-area team as a junior.

Colorado State rounded out its class with three signees from Colorado: Madelaine Kessler, a defender and forward from Mead High School, Aimee Thorstensen, a midfielder and forward from Mountain Range High School, and Alexandra Lanning, a midfielder and forward from Doherty High School.

Kessler has been a three-time captain for her high school team and has also earned First-Team All-Conference honors twice. Thorstensen has also been a two-time all-conference selection, while also being named the Offensive MVP in both her sophomore and junior seasons. Lanning comes to the Rams with plenty of offensive firepower, having twice been named Offensive MVP and earning all-state honors once. The Doherty midfielder/forward has earned all-conference honors three years and has been selected as a captain twice by her coaches and teammates.
