Homecoming Tailgate Package for Coors Light Ram Walk Tailgate includes food from CSU Meat Judging Team and exclusive Proud to Be pennant
FORT COLLINS, Colo.—The Colorado State University Alumni Association and the Department of Athletics are teaming up to provide fans a unique tailgate opportunity before the Oct. 13 Homecoming football game against New Mexico at Canvas Stadium. The game kicks off at 2 p.m.
The Homecoming Tailgate Package includes a catered meal by the CSU Meat Judging Team, a beverage and an exclusive giveaway—a CSU Rams Proud to Be pennant—all for just $20 within the popular Coors Light Ram Walk Tailgate located just north of Canvas Stadium on Meridian Ave. The tailgate opportunity runs from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m., and tickets may be purchased online here in advance.
Those who purchase Homecoming Tailgate packages may pick up their tickets and gift from Wednesday, Oct. 10 through Friday, Oct. 12, at the Iris & Michael Smith Alumni Center, located in the northeast corner of Canvas Stadium, at the intersection of Meridian Ave. & Pitkin Street. On game day, The Alumni Association will have a separate check-in table for purchasers to pick up their tickets and giveaway at the Coors Light Ram Walk Tailgate.
The 2017 opening of Canvas Stadium brought Rams Football back to campus, and new traditions have been established to make game days on the picturesque CSU campus in Fort Collins truly special and unique experiences for engagement with the entire University. The Smith Alumni Center, located in Canvas Stadium, has enhanced that engagement for alumni who come back to campus on game days, and throughout the year, to reconnect with their university.
The CSU Meat Evaluation Team, housed in the Center for Meat Safety & Quality in the Department of Animal Sciences, provides catering services as means of raising funds to support extensive travel costs and supplies incurred as the team competes nationally and internationally. This service is a student-run and operated, full-service, licensed catering kitchen. The judging program helps students to learn very applied and intensive critical thinking and evaluation skills, both written and verbal communication expertise, time-management and interpersonal abilities. By also operating the fund-raising catering business, the students have the opportunity to experience real-world enterprise production and management training.
In addition to providing support for this team, the Homecoming Tailgate also supports the Alumni Association's partnership with High Country Beverage and Stadium Sessions in hosting the popular Coors Light Ram Walk Tailgate, which debuted in 2018 to provide music, drinks and food to Rams fans just outside the gates to Canvas Stadium, beginning four hours before kickoff of each CSU home football game.
