Rams picked to finish third in Mountain Division by MW media members

Sophomore punter Ryan Stonehouse named to Preseason All-MW team
LAS VEGAS — The Colorado State Rams were picked to finish third in the Mountain Division and sophomore punter Ryan Stonehouse received Preseason All-Mountain West recognition, as chosen by a poll of conference media members. The league made the announcement via Facebook Live this morning during the Mountain West Media Summit at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
CSU was picked third in the Mountain Division, behind Boise State and Wyoming. Boise State totaled 132 points, including all 22 possible first-place votes. Wyoming had 95 points, followed by CSU at 82. Utah State (78), Air Force (52) and New Mexico (23) were pegged for positions 4-6, respectively.
Fresno State took 16 of the 22 possible first-place votes in the West Division and was picked first, while San Diego State garnered six first-place votes in second.
Stonehouse punted 46 times last season and ranked fifth in the FBS with a 45.9 yard average. He pinned 24 punts inside the 20-yard line and had 18 punts of at least 50 yards.
The Mater Dei High School product stuck two punts inside the 20-yard line at No. 1 Alabama, and had a career-long punt of 65 yards.
Several Rams have earned preseason recognition as of July 24. Senior running back Izzy Matthews was including on the Doak Walker Award watch list (nation's top collegiate running back), redshirt sophomore fullback Adam Prentice was selected as a nominee for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, and sophomore tight end Cameron Butler landed on the John Mackey Award watch list (nation's most outstanding tight end).
Season tickets and three-game mini-plans, as well as single-game tickets to the Rocky Mountain Showdown against Colorado, are available now. Single-game tickets for CSU home games go on sale tomorrow.
