Wide receivers continue to impress
The Colorado State football team held its fourth practice of fall camp on Monday, wearing shoulder pads for the second day in a row before donning full pads Tuesday for the first time in fall camp.
The defense made its presence felt again on Monday, bringing a lot of energy and tenacity to practice. Several defensive players are beginning to stand out as leaders, as well.
"(We) started out a little bit slow in practice but I thought the energy picked up especially on the defensive side," Bobo said. "It wasn't just their coaches; I thought the players challenged each other, kept coaching, being positive and kind of got that side of the ball going, where offensively it was the coaches trying to lead; kind of an example of what I've talked about all the time, (that) we have to be player-led.
"It was good to see that from the defense," Bobo continued. "We have to learn to push through as a football team. There were some good things today and some bad things, like (always) in camp, but overall just proud of the defense how they pushed through and played extremely hard through the end of practice. (I) saw a lot of guys making a lot of plays and a lot of freshmen out there running and hitting, which is good to see."
Â
The Rams are loaded at wide receiver, and the group has impressed Bobo so far. The two returnees with the most experience as Rams -- Olabisi Johnson and Warren Jackson -- have been solid, while Preston Williams, Darius Wise, Brenden Fulton and E.J. Scott continue to make plays.
"I have been very pleased with Preston (Williams) I felt like he had an outstanding practice yesterday," Bobo said. "I've been pleased on the other wide with (Olabisi Johnson) and another guy is Warren Jackson. IÂ mean this guy had two really great practices. Early this morning I'm re-watching practice and I thought it was Preston running a route one time and it was Warren. The guy is just really learning how to run and the mechanics of running."

Coors Light Ram Walk Tailgate will add to CSU game-day fan experience in 2018
Colorado State University will offer a significant fan-experience enhancement in 2018 with the addition of the Coors Light Ram Walk Tailgate, located just north of Canvas Stadium, before every home football game. The free tailgate, hosted by the CSU Alumni Association, Athletics and the Division of External Relations, is presented in partnership with High Country Beverage, Coors Light and the Bohemian Foundation, and offers Stadium Sessions performances, TV, and food, beer and wine for purchase.
Located at the intersection of Meridian Ave. and Hughes Way, just steps from Canvas Stadium's north gates, the Coors Light Ram Walk Tailgate opens four hours before kickoff of each Colorado State home football game. Approximately two hours before each game the Rams football team passes by the tailgate on its Ram Walk march down Meridian Ave. to enter the stadium, led by the CSU marching band and cheer and pom squads.
