The Colorado State football team wore full pads for the first time in fall camp on Tuesday. It also marked the fifth full day of practice for the Rams.
Putting on full pads meant the Rams could run through some more live drills with full contact.Â
"There's really not a lot of a difference with pads and shells except we did a couple live drills, did half a team run live and then we finished in the red zone live," head coach Mike Bobo explained. "Good enthusiasm and I thought the backs ran hard. I thought there were some good tackles at times."Â
Bobo also talked about the rigors of camp for his team, and he's happy with how they've managed it all.
"It's been five really good days, long days," Bobo said. "The thing you have to remember about our guys being in camp is we're still in school too. Starting at 6:30 in the morning and you've got meetings, you've got walkthroughs and they are going to class and then they are coming back to practice and having meetings at night and getting out of here 9:30-10 o'clock... so it's been a tough five days. I really think we have gotten better every day; we have worked extremely hard, there's been good leadership."
The Rams will have Wednesday off before resuming practice on Thursday afternoon. It is their first day off since camp began last Friday.

Q&A -- Meet redshirt freshman offensive lineman Barry Wesley
Barry Wesley
Q:Â On playing at CSU with teammates from high schoolÂ
Â
A: It's great because you know what they have been through since high school, and then obviously being a first year last year they kind of helped show me the ropes of what college was like to help me balance my schedule, what time I need to be at lifting, what time I need to be at class, what time I need to be at practice… so it was really nice to have like a guiding hand through that first year.
Â
Q: Were you friends with Jake Bennett and Olabisi Johnson?
Â
A: "In high school, it was my sophomore year when we got a new O-Line coach; Jake's older brother Austin Bennett was my O-Line coach… He played at Colorado Mesa so he had a lot of knowledge too and it made the transition to CSU easier."
Â
Q: What drew you to Colorado State?
Â
A: "The campus, the people and the mountains"
Â
Q: What sparked your interest in Health & Exercise Science?
Â
A: "I've always wanted to help people and growing up I never knew how to do that. In the recent few months I've realized that through health and exercise science I've had an interest in Nursing. I'd want to get into nursing with kids.
Â
Q: What kind of music have you been listening to lately?
Â
A: "I've been listening to a lot. Honestly, I don't like all the stuff they play in the locker rooms. I listen to a lot of J. Cole, Coldplay and hip-hop and pop stuff."
Â
Q: What other stuff do you do in your free time?
Â
A: "Recently just sleep. I play a lot of video games. I want to read more. I just read a book called Chop Wood Carry Water; How to fall in love with the process of becoming great, and I loved it, so I made that a priority of mine throughout the summer to sit down and read a book."
Â
Q: Did you have any summer classes this year?
Â
A: I just finished a class for an internship I had at the president's office of Tony Frank. I am part of a committee that's called PMSAC (President's Multicultural Student Advisory Committee), and through my connections there they helped me set up an internship at the president's office here in Fort Collins.
