Duo recognized after strong first five games of 2018

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Colorado State wide receivers Olabisi Johnson and Preston Williams have been added to the 2018 Biletnikoff Award watch list, as announced today by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation.

The Biletnikoff Award is given annually to the outstanding FBS receiver, regardless of position. Two recent Rams receivers, Michael Gallup (2017) and Rashard Higgins (2014) were finalists for the award.

Johnson has 436 yards receiving on 29 catches through five games this season. Four of those catches have been for touchdowns, including a pair in CSU's season opener against Hawai'i.

The Bear Creek High School product has eclipsed the 100-yard mark twice this season – 157 yards against Hawai'i on Aug. 25 and 107 yards last week versus Illinois State.

Johnson, a native of Lakewood, Colo., owns the Rams' single-game receiving yards record: 265 yards against Idaho in the 2016 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

Williams is playing in his first season as a Ram after transferring from Tennessee during the 2016 campaign. Williams leads the Rams with 511 yards receiving on 39 catches with four touchdowns.

The native of Lovejoy, Ga., has three 100-yard outings in 2018, including a season-best 188 yards in his debut versus Hawai'i on Aug. 25. He also helped CSU record its first home win against an SEC squad, posting 12 catches for 154 yards and a pair of scores against Arkansas on Sept. 8.

Williams is averaging 102.2 yards per contest, a figure that ranks second in the Mountain West and 12th in the FBS.

Johnson and Williams join several other Rams that were already included on watch lists or were nominated for prominent national awards:
