FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Dante Wright made an immediate impression at Colorado State, and the nation is taking notice of the true freshman.

The FWAA Freshman All-American team placed the true freshman on its 2019 Midseason Watch List on Wednesday as it recognizes first-year and redshirt freshman contributions. Seven games into the season, Wright not only leads the Rams in receiving yards (595) and is second in receptions (38), but he ranks in the top five nationally among his peer group.

He sits second among freshmen in all-purpose yards (831), explosive receiving plays (19 of 10 or more yards), explosive plays (24), is second in receiving yards and third in catches. The product out of Navarre, Fla., has started every game this season for CSU and is one of seven true freshmen to have started for the Rams this season.

He opened his career with receiving and rushing touchdowns in the same game the first two weeks of the season, becoming the first true freshman to score twice in a game since Warren Jackson in 2017.

Colorado State is on the road Saturday in Mountain West action, facing Fresno State (5:30 p.m.; ESPNU) out of the West Division.
