Jackson Added to Biletnikoff Watch List

Junior ranks in top three nationally in catches, yards per game

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Warren Jackson is officially carrying on the tradition at Colorado State.
 
The junior wideout was added to The Biletnikoff Award watch list on Wednesday, joining former recent Rams Rashard Higgins, Michael Gallup, Preston Williams and Olabisi Johnson as members of the list put out annually by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club. Jackson was one of four players added to the list Wednesday.
 
The Mission Hills, Calif., product ranks in the top three nationally in both receptions and yards per game, averaging 8.2 and 119.8, respectively. Despite missing two games this season, he sits 11th in the nation with 29 explosive catches of 10 yards or longer. All of those totals lead the Mountain West, with his 87-yard touchdown reception at New Mexico standing as the longest play in the conference this season.
 
In six games, Jackson has 49 receptions for 719 yards and six touchdowns, highlighted by his nine-catch, 214-yard performance against the Lobos, the yardage the eighth-best total in a game by a Ram. He posted a 12-grab game against Toledo (tied for third-best in a single game at CSU) and has surpassed 100-yards in his past three games.
 
The Biletnikoff Award is presented annually to the top pass receiver in the nation, regardless of position. The winner will be announced on Dec. 12 at the College Football Hall of Fame as part of The Home Depot College Football Awards, televised by ESPN from 5-7 p.m. Higgins was a finalist in 2014, Gallup in 2017.
