#25STRONG
During the 2019 season, the Colorado State softball team will continuously recognize it being #25Strong, referring to 25 years since being reinstated as a sport at Colorado State. The Rams' softball program began in 1976, but did not compete during the 1993 season due to the program being cut at the end of the 1992 season. Colorado State reinstated the softball program and competed in 1994.

STRONG START
Colorado State will look to continue its strong start to the season as it has recorded five shutouts and is outscoring its opponents, 58-23. In 2018, the Rams totaled six shutouts all season after posting their best start – winning the first seven games – since the 1997 season.

LAST TIME OUT
Colorado State continued non-conference action last week at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City, Calif., posting a 4-2 record. The Rams started the weekend with victories over Bethune-Cookman and Utah, before knocking off then-No. 16 Oklahoma State. CSU finished the weekend dropping games to Cal Poly and No. 2 UCLA. The Rams win over the Cowgirls was the first win over a ranked opponent since the 2009 season.

CONFERENCE AWARDS SWEEP
Colorado State swept the Mountain West weekly softball awards as Jessica Jarecki claimed Pitcher of the Week honors and Ashley Ruiz was named the Player of the Week. It was the first MW weekly accolade for both players.

OPPONENT SCOUT
Huskers: Nebraska carries an 8-5 record into the Colorado State Classic I after posting a 1-3 record at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic last weekend. The Huskers suffered losses to San Diego State, No. 13 and No. 2 UCLA. Nebraska's lone victory was against BYU with a 5-4 win in eight innings. Prior to last weekend, the Huskers swept the weekend at the ACC/B1G Challenge with four wins over NC State and Pittsburgh.

Bengals: Idaho State will bring a 5-6 record to the Colorado State Classic I after finishing with a 3-2 mark at the UC Davis Aggie Invitational last weekend. The Bengals picked up wins over UTEP, UC Davis and Saint Mary's, but fell in a game to Saint Mary's and Seattle U. Prior to last week, Idaho State was at the Cal State Fullerton Titan Classic and finished with a 2-4 mark.

Seawolves: Stony Brook will come to Fort Collins without a record as weather has plagued its season. The Seawolves tried to play at the Furman Invitational last week, but weather caused all five games to get canceled. The Seawolves finished the 2018 season with a 25-22 overall record and 10-7 in the America East.

Broncos: Santa Clara competed in the Silicon Valley Classic last weekend suffering four losses to bring a 2-10 record to the Colorado State Classic I. The Broncos suffered losses to Northern Colorado, Utah State, Montana and CS Bakersfield. The Broncos competed at the CSUN Early Bird Classic the weekend before and finished with a 1-2 mark.
