Hutton hurls first-career no-hitter in win
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State softball team started the Colorado State Classic with a dominating 16-0 performance against Idaho State, which included a no-hitter for senior pitcher Bridgette Hutton. The Rams started the game against Nebraska, but was halted due to darkness after the third inning with CSU leading, 10-6.
The Colorado State offense ignited in the first game of the day, scoring 16 runs and 14 hits – both a season high. The Rams scored in every inning in the shorten game with three in the first, two in the second, five in the third and six in the fourth.
While the offense was in high gear, Colorado State's pitching was also right there with it as Bridgette Hutton earned her third shutout of the season, allowing no hits, three walks and struck out four batters on her way to her first career no-hitter.

- Ashley Michelena and Lauren Buchanan led the Rams from the plate recording three hits apiece, including Buchanan going 3-for-3 with five RBI and two runs scored
- Nine different Rams registered a hit in the victory, including three hitting home runs
- Amber Nelson hit her second homer of the season, while Buchanan and Tara Shadowen hit their first
- This is the second victory of the season that the Rams have won via the run rule
- The Rams also registered four extra base hits, including back-to-back-to-back doubles in the bottom of the third
