No. 25 Rams respond with dominating win in Reno, set up rubber match

Colorado State registered seven hits in the win and left just one runner on base.
RENO, Nev. – The No. 25 Colorado State softball team responded to its game one loss with a dominating 9-0 win in five innings in game two at Nevada on Friday afternoon. The win sets up a rubber match for the series tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m., MT.

Colorado State took the lead early in the first inning after Tara Shadowen hit her 10th homer of the season to give the Rams a 3-0 lead. CSU extended its lead in the second frame after Isabella Navarro blasted a solo homer to left. Colorado State continued its offensive power in the fourth, scoring five runs on a sac fly, a Nevada error and Amber Nelson hitting a two-run homer for her eighth bomb of the season.
Nevada recorded its third hit of the ball game in the fifth inning before going down in order.

All facets of the game were in rhythm as the Rams' offense belted seven hits, including three homers and the pitching staff allowed just three hits all game.
