THE WEEK
The Colorado State softball team will take a quick break from Mountain West Conference action and play the second-of-two games this season against Northern Colorado on Tuesday, April 23 starting at 4 p.m., MT at Ram Field. Colorado State stays atop the Mountain West Conference with its 33-7 overall mark and 15-3 in league action.

EARLIER THIS SEASON
The Rams played the Bears earlier this season on March 26 in Greeley, Colo., coming away with a 4-3 victory in eight frames. Colorado State had to come back twice to earn the win after trailing in the third inning and entering the seventh. The win was the Rams 15th-straight at the time and 12th over the Bears.

LAST TIME OUT
Colorado State continued Mountain West Conference action last weekend at Nevada and won its sixth series of the season. The Rams dropped the first game of the series, but responded taking the final two. CSU hit seven home runs in the season – tying with the New Mexico series – led by Amber Nelson who blasted a homer in each game.

RECORD SEASON
Colorado State will look to continue its strong season and conference play, as it has recorded 10 shutouts, while outscoring its opponents, 283-110. The Rams' 33-7 record is their best record ever and their 15-3 in the MW is the best mark since the league formed in 1999-2000.

QUICK WINS
The Rams have 11 wins so far this season by the run-rule, including the first-ever victory over Fresno State, 12-4 in six innings. Colorado State recorded seven run-rule wins in all of 2018. CSU's 11 run-rule victories this season is the most in program history.

#25STRONG
During the 2019 season, the Colorado State softball team will continuously recognize it being #25Strong, referring to 25 years since being reinstated as a sport at Colorado State. The Rams' softball program began in 1976, but did not compete during the 1993 season due to the program being cut at the end of the 1992 season. Colorado State reinstated the softball program and competed in 1994.

UP NEXT
After its non-conference tilt against Northern Colorado, Colorado State will host San Diego State for its final home series of the season.
