#25STRONG
During the 2019 season, the Colorado State softball team will recognize it being #25Strong, referring to 25 years since being reinstated as a sport at Colorado State. The Rams' softball program began in 1976, but did not compete during the 1993 season due to the program being cut at the end of the 1992 season. Colorado State reinstated the softball program and competed in 1994.
Â
NCAA HISTORY
The Rams will make their return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2003. CSU is 2-4 all-time, with its lone wins coming in 1997 against Brown and Massachusetts. Colorado State's last appearance in the NCAA postseason was in 2003 in Tucson as it suffered losses to host Arizona and CSUN.
Â
ALL-MW AWARDS
Colorado State set another record, earned six All-Mountain West awards. In addition to the six, senior catcher Amber Nelson was named Player of the Year - the first since 2008 and third all-time. Head Coach Jen Fisher was named Coach of the Year - her second honor and fourth all-time for CSU.
Â
RECORD SEASON
Colorado State will look to continue its strong season heading into the postseason as its 38 wins so far are the most since 2004, while its record as a whole is the best in program history. The Rams' final 18-6 Mountain West mark is the also the best since the league formed in 1999-2000.
Â
FISHER WINS
Head Coach Jen Fisher surpassed her Mountain West season win total with a shutout win in game two at Nevada. Fisher won 18 Mountain West games this season, the second most conference wins all-time at CSU and the most in the MW. The 18 wins were also the third most all-time for the Mountain West.
