Rams game at Arkansas a 2 p.m. start

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The final Denver chapter of the Rocky Mountain Showdown has been set for an 8 p.m. kickoff of Friday, Aug. 30 by ESPN, the network announced Thursday.

Along with the announcement for ESPN's Pac-12 contests the first three weeks of the 2019 season, the network posted kick times for SEC games, with the Rams' trip to Arkansas (Sept. 14) slated for a 2 p.m. start on the SEC Network.

Colorado State and Colorado will play at Broncos Stadium at Mile High as the in-state rivalry is set to move back to campus in 2020, played at Canvas Stadium. The series will not resume again until 2023, played in Boulder, followed by a 2024 date in Fort Collins. Last year's game drew 70,158 fans, the second year in a row with more than 70,000 tickets sold. It was the seventh-best attendance for the 19-year series in the Mile High City.

The game was moved to Denver in 1998 for a six-year run. It returned to the NFL venue in 2006 and stayed there annually with the exception of the 2009 game in Boulder.

The Rocky Mountain Showdown is one of four Friday night games the Rams will play this season. It is the sixth time the game is set for August, with the Rams 2-3 in those contests.

This will be the third consecutive year the Rams have played a road game at an SEC venue and the fourth visit overall to Fayetteville. The Rams beat the Razorbacks 34-27 last year at Canvas Stadium. CSU fans interested in purchasing tickets for the game can contact the Rams ticket office.

With the two announcements, Colorado State will have half of its regular-season games televised on one of the ESPN outlets.

Single-game tickets for the Rocky Mountain Showdown, as well as mini-plan packages (which can include the Showdown) started Thursday for alumni, faculty, staff and Ram Club donors and go on sale to the general public on June 4. Season tickets for the 2019 season (which begin at $250) remain one of the best values for sports and entertainment in the region, and are available now by contacting the Rams Sales Team at 800-491-RAMS (7267) or visiting www.CSURams.com/tickets. Ticket packages for the 2019 season include the final Rocky Mountain Showdown, as well as six additional games on campus.
