- Series: Colorado State is now 1-2 against Toledo and 1-1 at home.
- Non-Conference play: Colorado State heads into Mountain West play with a 1-3 mark. This is the fifth time in the past 10 seasons the Rams have gone 1-3 in non-conference play. Only once in that span have the Rams had a winning record in non-conference play (4-0, 2014).
- 600 Club: For the third game this season, Colorado State's offense surpassed 500 yards of total offense, the 21st time in coach Mike Bobo's tenure. The Rams finished with 694 yards, the best total under Bobo and second in school history.
- 200 Club: Toledo's Bryant Koback rushed for 228 yards in the game, the first opponent to do so since Air Force's Cole Fagan (260) the final game of 2018. Quarterback Mitchell Guadagni surpassed the century mark 119, making the Rockets the first team since Wyoming in 2018 to have two players rush for more than 100 yards in a game. Toledo rushed for more than 400 yards, as a team 436, becoming the first team to do so since Air Force in 2017.
PLAYER NOTES
QB Patrick O'Brien
- Made his first collegiate start after four appearances at Nebraska and two with Colorado State. He threw his first collegiate touchdown pass to end the first drive, a 6-yard connection with Warren Jackson.
- O'Brien finished 32-of-52 for 405 yards with one touchdown and an interception.
- He added a rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter on a sneak from the 1.
- The Auburn transfer made his first appearance for CSU in his first game eligible. The ball thrown to him was good for a 14-yard gain.
- He finished the game with five catches for 88 yards.
- - He capped the scoring on the opening drive with a 6-yard touchdown catch, the ninth of his career, but his first at home.
- - Set a career best 12 catches in a game, and had 132 receiving yards, marking his second 100-yard receiving game. His previous bests were nine catches and 105 yards vs. Boise State in 2018.
- More than doubled his career best with 13 tackles in the game. He had eight by halftime. His previous best had been six.
- After notching the second 100-yard rushing game of his career vs. Arkansas (a career-best 180), he did it for a second week in a row, finishing with 246 yards.
- This game marks the third week in a row he's had a scoring play of 70 yards or longer. He broke off a 74-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter. Last week, he had a 75-yard scoring run vs. Arkansas, and he had a 77-yard touchdown reception vs. Western Illinois.
- Became the 20th Ram to eclipse 200 rushing yards in a game; his total ranks seventh all time for a single game.
