Trey McBride was named first team by all five of the NCAA-recognized selectors.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – For the first time in program history, Colorado State Football has a unanimous All-American as senior Trey McBride garnered his fifth and final All-American designation on Wednesday.

The American Football Coaches Association announced their All-American team with McBride as the first team tight end, pushing McBride into an echelon that no Ram football player prior to him has ever achieved. Four Rams – Mike Bell, Greg Myers, Rashard Higgins, and Michael Gallup – reached consensus All-American status, and the John Mackey Award winner surpassed even that group.

He is the first offensive player in Mountain West history to reach unanimous status and just the fifth overall.

"That's very special, and to be the first in program history is such an honor," McBride said in an exclusive RamWire interview. "I am just so grateful for this university and the coaches who helped me get to this spot. This is so special, and something that will be in the history books forever."

The Fort Morgan, Colo., product was stellar throughout his career, but at his best in his final campaign. He leaves Colorado State as the most productive tight end in history, amassing 164 receptions for 2,100 yards and 10 touchdowns. His catches rank him fourth in a single season and seventh for a career; his yardage ranks eighth and ninth, respectively.

He posted six 100-yard receiving games in 2021 (tied for second-best in a season by a CSU target), giving him eight such games in his career, which ranks sixth.
