The receiver will stay in Colorado as an undrafted free agent signing of the Broncos.
DENVER – Colorado State wide receiver Warren Jackson has a new home as he has signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent, according to his Twitter feed.
Â
The 6-foot-6 matchup nightmare is now the fifth Ram wide receiver to join the current NFL ranks, following Rashard Higgins (Cleveland), Michael Gallup (Dallas), Olabisi Johnson (Minnesota), and Preston Williams (Miami).
Â
Jackson was named the 2020 preseason Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year after a 2019 junior campaign where he was named a first-team All-Mountain West selection. The Mission Hills, Calif., native led the team with 77 catches for 1,119 yards and eight touchdowns over 10 games. His 77 catches rank fifth-best for a single season in program history while his 1,119 yards rank eighth. Against Toledo, Jackson tallied the third-most receptions in a single game with 12 and his 214 yards against New Mexico rank eighth for a single-game performance at Colorado State.
Â
All totaled, Jackson played in 33 games for Colorado State, tallied 1,789 yards on 124 receptions and 14 touchdowns while increasing his production each season. He did not play during the 2020 season, choosing to begin his training for the next level after the Mountain West initially postponed the season in August. Jackson was well into draft preparations when the league reversed course a month later.
Â
A consensus three-star prospect when he signed with the Rams out of Bishop Alemany High School in 2017, Jackson quickly burst onto the scene as a true freshman when he played in all 13 games and drew national attention for his two-touchdown performance at No. 1 Alabama.
