11 Rams Earn Preseason All-Conference Honors from Phil Steele's College Football Preview

All-American Ryan Stonehouse leads the group which includes 10 additional Rams.


FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Led by All-American punter Ryan Stonehouse, Colorado State had 11 Rams named preseason All-Mountain West by Phil Steele's College Football Preview magazine.

Stonehouse enters the 2021 season as the NCAA career record holder for punt average at 46.8 yards per punt. He also holds two of the top three single-season punting average records in Colorado State history including the school record of 48.3 in 2018.

Making an appearance on the second team were offensive game breakers wide receiver Dante Wright and tight end Trey McBride. Defensive end Scott Patchan, a year removed from ranking No. 6 nationally in tackles for loss per game, was joined on the second team defense by linebacker Dequan Jackson and fellow defensive lineman Manny Jones. Long snapper Ross Reiter also garnered second team accolades.

Rounding out the selections were Wright as the third team punt returner while incoming transfer running back David Bailey, offensive linemen Barry Wesley and Elijah Johnson, and defensive tackle Devin Phillips grabbed spots on the fourth team.
