McBride earned honorable mention All-American honors for his 2020 season.
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State senior tight end Trey McBride, a 2020 honorable mention All-American by Pro Football Focus, was named to the John Mackey Award Watch List on Friday.
Â
The Mackey Award Watch List, given to the nation's top tight end, has been a regular spot for McBride to appear over the course of his career.
Â
In 2020, McBride graded out high for PFF as both a blocker and a receiver, giving him a 90.8 receiving grade last season after leading the team with 22 receptions for 330 yards and four touchdowns; he also became the first tight end in program history to lead the team in scoring. He was tied for the 6th-best mark nationally in receiving grade by a tight end and was 14 spots higher than the next closest Mountain West tight end, Air Force's Kyle Patterson.
Â
Only two other Mountain West tight ends appeared in the Top 50, both from Wyoming.
Â
For his career, McBride has steadily climbed the charts for Colorado State tight ends and enters the 2021 campaign one touchdown away from tying Joel Dreessen for the second-most touchdown receptions in a career. He also has the second-best yards per catch average by a tight end in Ram history.

Colorado State opens fall camp on August 5 ahead of a Sept. 3 season opener against South Dakota State in Canvas Stadium.
