Both Cross Country Teams Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Awards

Men & Women Ram Cross Country Teams Earn Team Awards Plus some Individuals
NEW ORLEANS – Both Colorado State cross country teams received All-Academic Team honors by the U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) for the fall 2021 NCAA Division I Cross Country season along with three All-Academic individuals, announced on Thursday by the organization.

It marks the 12th time that both genders have earned the awards in the same season. For the women it is their 17th honor, while the men have gotten the accolade 12 times. In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period. The women were one of 168 programs across the country to fall within the perimeters, while they sported a 3.61 GPA. The men were one of 150 programs to gain the honor and they did so with a 3.29 GPA.

Individually, there were 114 women from 58 different institutions who were named All-Academic Athletes for their efforts during the 2021 season. In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 (or 10 percent) at the NCAA Regional Championships or as an All-American at the NCAA Championships.

Earning the honors for CSU were Lily Tomasula-Martin (Marriage and Family Therapy), Lauren Offerman (Business Management), and Annabel Stafford (Animal Science). At the NCAA Mountain Regional, the trio finished 16th, 20th, and 22nd, respectively.

The women finished 17th at the NCAA Championship in the program's 11th appearance at the national meet.
