THIS WEEK
Colorado State travels to the Tracy Beard Classic in Denton, Texas, Feb. 18-20 where it will play five games against three different opponents. The Rams will open the weekend playing Abilene Christian on Friday at 2:30 p.m., MT before playing host North Texas at 5:00 p.m., MT. CSU will continue play on Saturday with two games against Montana and Abilene Christian, before finishing the classic on Sunday against Montana.

LAST TIME OUT
The Rams are coming off the season opening weekend as they played five different teams at the Easton Classic in Fullerton California last weekend. Colorado State posted a 1-4 mark on the weekend with the four losses coming by two-or-fewer runs. The Rams recorded their first win of the season, exploded for 12 runs on 11 hits against Dixie State, as CSU beat the Trailblazers 11-0 in 5 innings. The Rams had totaled three home runs and six doubles on the opening weekend.

OPPONENT SCOUT
Abilene Christian
The Wildcats hold a 2-4 record to start the season after they opened play at the UTEP Tournament last weekend. ACU played Idaho State, UTEP and Creighton each twice, earning victories against Idaho State and UTEP once. The Rams and Wildcats have met twice before the weekend, both played in 2019 in San Marcos and CSU earning the two wins.

North Texas
The Mean Green started the season last weekend at the McNeese State Tournament and brings a 3-2 record into the weekend. UNT earned wins against Tulsa and Texas Southern twice. The last time Colorado State played North Texas was in 2010 in Denton coming away with an 8-7 victory. CSU holds a 2-1 mark in the series.

Montana
The Grizzlies come into the Tracy Beard Classic with a 3-2 record after starting the season playing in the Nor Cal Kickoff. Montana picked up a season-opening win against San Jose State, before finishing the week with wins against Saint Mary's and Santa Clara. Colorado State holds a 2-0 record in the series earning both wins on neutral sites and the last in Tucson, Arizona in 2018.

UP NEXT
Colorado State will continue non-conference action on the road and head to the Lopes Up Classic in Phoenix, Ariz., hosted by Grand Canyon, Feb. 25-27.
