Rams Add Goalkeeper from Kansas
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Rams are gaining an experienced goalkeeper for this upcoming season in Emilie Gavillet from the University of Kansas, head coach Keeley Hagen announced Monday.
Â
Gavillet becomes the fifth transfer for the Rams in the upcoming 2022 season, joining Taylor Bee (Iowa State), Megan Demski (Loyola Chicago), Hale Otto (Georgia), and Katy Coffin (Kansas State). There are now eight new student-athletes for the 2022 roster, including the incoming freshmen Jessica Shivers, Mia Massey, and Ishana Sandhu.
Â
"Emilie is our first recruit from across the pond to join us," Hagen said. "She has a drive and enthusiasm to grow and develop to be the best she can be. Her experience with being battle tested in the Big 12 will help our team continue to push towards our goals."
Â
Gavillet is a 5'9" goalkeeper from Montreux, Switzerland who has spent the previous three seasons in a Jayhawk jersey. After redshirting as a true freshman in 2018, she appeared in her first collegiate game in 2019 against Loyola-Chicago and kept her slate clean. It wasn't until fall of 2021 that Gavillet would see the field again, but it wound up being her most productive season. She started in 10 of 11 games played, while playing 982 minutes and tallying saves (44) and wins (3) – all team bests among the keepers. She recorded a save percentage of 0.71 and had a game-high nine saves against Oklahoma.
Â
Before Kansas, Gavillet played in High School at Gymnase de Burier in Switzerland and Wilhelm-Hausenstein-Gymnasium München in Germany. She also spent two stints with the Swiss youth national team at the U17 and U19 levels and the Bayern Munich club team where they won the Vize German Champion for the second division of the Bundesliga.
Â
Gavillet will complete her undergraduate studies this May at Kansas with a degree in Industrial Design and will pursue a graduate degree in Apparel Design and Merchandising at Colorado State starting this fall.
