Women’s Cross Country Team Ranked in National Coaches’ Poll

Colorado State debuts in the preseason poll at No. 13 after finishing No. 17 in 2021
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Climbing four spots from the final poll in 2021, the Colorado State women's cross country team debuted at No. 13 in the USTFCCCA National Coaches' Preseason Poll the organization announced on Wednesday.
In 2021, the women's team was ranked each week and reached as high as No. 12 in the national rankings – one spot shy of the highest ranking in school history, which occurred back in 2007.The Rams men were unranked the majority of last season but broke into the top spots at No. 19 midway through the fall. The men are also receiving one vote in the National Preseason Poll.
Majority of the teams with both men's and women's are either ranked or received votes in both Preseason Polls. Oklahoma State, Stanford and Colorado all have both men's and women's ranking in the Top-5 in the Preseason Poll.
New Mexico is the other Mountain West school as the Lobos are at No. 2 in the Preseason Poll and No. 1 in the Mountain Regional. The USTFCCCA also released Regional Rankings this week with the women's starting the preseason ranked No. 4 in the Mountain Region. On the men's side, the Rams debuted in at No. 7 in the region.
