What You Need to Know
- Thursday's home game for the Rams will serve as the team's annual White Out game. The team is anticipating a high possibility for the game to be Colorado State volleyball's first ticket sell-out in history.
- The Rams are coming off a 2-1 weekend participating at the Baylor Invitation last Thursday and Friday. After dropping the first match to No. 15 Baylor, the Rams put up two solid wins over Evansville and Arizona State including a five-set, reverse-sweep win over the Sun Devils.
- Colorado State is 2-1 against power-five conference opponents so far this season, beating North Carolina and Arizona State while falling to Arkansas. While Colorado boasts only one loss on the season so far, it was also by the hands of the Razorbacks in its last contest.
- The series will kick off Thursday in Fort Collins before the Rams head south to Boulder for a Friday match that will determine the winner of the Golden Spike Trophy. The trophy was established in 2019 with both teams holding a 2-2 record since its introduction.
Series History
- The CSU versus CU volleyball rivalry spans all the way back to 1987 where the Rams took the opening match 3-0 in Fort Collins.
- Since then, both teams have moved in and out of the national rankings and traded wins and losses as two historically successful programs. The matchup has proved to be an extremely competitive one as only 13 of 41 matches have ended in a sweep for either team.
- This is the third season out of the last four that the Rams and Buffaloes have done a home-and-home series where they play consecutive match days with each team hosting one competition.

Match Notes Nuggets
- Junior Karina Leber totaled 22 kills in the Rams' five-set win over Arizona State. This notched a new career high for the middle blocker who hit at a .571 kill percentage.
- The match against the Sun Devils was Colorado State's first five-set match of the season.
- In the Rams' dominant win over Evansville last weekend, six different CSU hitters added kills to the offensive attack. Head Coach Tom Hilbert has talked a lot about building depth and gaining experience during non-conference play and may look to continue this trend against Colorado.
- Redshirt Freshman Kate Yoshimoto continues to be a young highlight in the back row for the Rams. Game-by-game she continues to lead the team in digs as she has put up double-digit numbers in seven out of nine matches this season. The libero passed up a season high 18 versus the Sun Devils last weekend.
- Colorado State got Redshirt Sophomore Malaya Jones back on the court last weekend after dealing with an injury during the Colorado State Invitational in week two. Despite missing four games already this season, Jones still sits second on the team in kills per set with 2.71, just .05 kills per set behind team leader, Leber.
- Naeemah Weathers stepped up in the Baylor Invitational to cover the spot of the injured Jacqi Van Liefde and the junior middle blocker was a huge defensive presence in the front row, totaling four blocks against both Baylor and Evansville.
