Stafford Named Mountain West Women’s Athlete of the Week

The redshirt junior earns her first conference award and the first of the season for Colorado State

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State redshirt junior Annabel Stafford was named the Mountain West Women's Athlete of the Week for cross country. The award is the first of her career and the first for the season for the Rams.

Colorado State started the 2022 season at the Wyoming Invite last weekend as Stafford paced the Rams to a first-place finish in the women's 5K. The redshirt junior placed first with a time of 17:14.3, setting a personal best in the 5K of almost three seconds and earned her first victory of her career. Her previous best was a year ago at the same event when she finished 5th overall.

Colorado State is idle for a few weeks before heading to St. Paul, Minn., for the Roy Griak invitation, Friday, Sept. 23 at the Les Bolstad Golf Course.
