Rams Face First Road Test Against San Francisco

Colorado State will face the Dons in the Chase Center
FORT COLLINS – Colorado State will have its first road test this weekend, playing San Franscico on Sunday afternoon. The Rams won't be playing on a college campus, but rather will be in the NBA Warriors arena, the Chase Center.

STALWART RAMS
McKenna Hofschild leads the Rams and the Mountain West in scoring, averaging 21.0 points per game… The MW Preseason Player of the Year is also shooting 54.5 percent and 9.5 assist per game… Cali Clark has been controlling the boards, pulling an average of 8.0 per night… The senior tallied eight offensive boards in the season opener against Le Monye, tying for fifth most in a game in program history… Although early in the season, Hofschild is 18-of-20 from the charity stripe… Sydney Mech is second in the Mountain West with 1.75 blocks per game, followed by Kendyll Kinzer and Hannah Ronsiek with 1.25.

ASSIST LEADER
With 14 assists against South Dakota Mines last week, McKenna Hofschild became the all-time assists leader at Colorado State. Passing CSU Greats Dee Dee Dominguez, Becky Hammon and Ellen Nystrom. The graduate became the leader midway through the third quarter with her eighth assist of the game after a steal and fastbreak layup by Cali Clark.

McKenna Hofschild once again one of top in the nation in assist/turnover ratio at 7.6. She also is second in assists per game with her 9.5 and No. 26 in points per game at 21.0.

Colorado State and San Francisco faced each other a season ago in Moby Arena, with the Dons coming away with a 73-62 victory. McKenna Hofschild played all 40 minutes, scoring a team-high 26 points and dished out six assists.

San Francisco is 2-4 entering the weekend, picking up its second victory of the season against Yale on Tuesday. The Dons dropped the game games prior, including both at the Bank of Hawaii Classic. Jasmine Gayles leads USF with 18.3 points per game and 4.7 rebounds. Debora dos Santos follows, scoring 12.3 points per game and handling 8.7 boards. Dos Santos also is shooting 53.4 in 21.7 minutes.
